English Drama Fest 2018

The event “English Drama Fest 2018” was organised on Saturday, December2018. In this event students of class IV narrated some famous folk tales through ‘Drama’. The event had 100% participation and covered different genres.

Zoo Yoga

Five days long ZOO-Yoga was held in DPS Rewari for nursery grade to 2nd grade.

The Yoga session conducted by psychological counselor Mrs. Nitika Teotia , was specially designed & structured for small children. The students of DPS Rewari learnt the yoga techniques which would help them to improve their concentration & focus.

Students were taught different asanas through animal postures such as Tadasana through giraffe posture, badhakonasana through butterfly posture and many others.

The main aim was to awareness & ignites passion for fitness & yoga among students. In present day when students face anxiety, fear, stress etc, simple asanas or animal postures can help dispel these.

Overall our all students enjoyed and had fun to try different animal postures with Zoo story and we truly looking forward to conduct other yoga related future event in our school.

Bal Ramayana

To inculcate strong ethical values and moral code of conduct, spectacular ‘Bal Ramayan’ was organnised in the school premises on 3 Nov 2018 for classes Nursert to III grade. Tiny tots of pre primary wing showcased scintillating performance on the different episodes of magnum opus ‘Ramayana’. Additional C.J.M Mr. Mohit Aggarwal graced the occasion. His inspiring speech related to the life of lord Rama motivated students to follow the path of righteousness and truth in the modern glitter.

CARD MAKING ON GRANDPARENT’S DAY

‘Grandparents- silver in their hair and gold in their heart.’

Grandparents are the family’s strongest foundation. Through their special love and care, grandparents keep a family close knit.  In honour of the grandparents, the students of Class I and II made a takeaway craft for their grandparents to be presented as a token of their love and affection. Children, in their own special way, thanked the grandparents for their love and support.

SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS

Students of Class I and II learnt the concepts of science through easy experiments performed in the class room in the month of October. They used simple day to day objects to learn more about scientific facts.

TEAR AND PASTE ACTIVITY

Students of Class II participated in an art activity that involved tearing and pasting of paper cuttings to form a tree. The activity aimed at improving hand-eye coordination in the students.

BHAJAN SANDHYA

A Bhajan Sandhya was organized in the school premises in the evening of 13 October 2018. Grandparents of Classes I to V were invited to witness the blissful musical evening. Exquisite bhajans sung by the choir group mesmerized the audience. One of the grandparent also presented a melodious bhajan. The entire aura beamed with positivity and bliss. Principal Ms. Sunita Chopra addressed the gathering and stressed upon the need to restore our culture and upholding its value system.

MODEL MAKING – WILD AND FARM ANIMALS

Students of Class I participated in a Model Making activity . This group activity not only gave the students an opportunity to learn about different wild and farm animals but also helped them in improving their hand-eye coordination.

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

Teacher’s Day is a day for the students to express their gratitude towards their teachers for their selfless efforts. Students of Pre-Primary block participated in a Speech Competition  held on 5th Sep 2018 based on the theme ‘My Teachers’. Children delivered thoughtful speeches with great confidence.

JANAMASHTAMI CELEBRATION

The festival of Janamashtami was celebrated with great pomp and show by the students of Pre-Primary wing on 2 September 2018. Children came dressed as Krishna and Radha and danced to the tunes of Krishna Bhajans. The activity was enjoyed by one and all.

CLAY ACTIVITY

A Clay Modeling Activity was held for the students of Class II on 30thAugust 2018. Students displayed their creativity by molding the clay in different attractive shapes.

SPORTS DAY

While the students of the senior block were busy in participating in selection events of different sports organized by District Administration, students of classes Nursery to II celebrated Sports Day by participating in a one kilometer walk on 29th August 2018.

COLOURING COMPETITION

A Colouring Competition was organized for the students of Class II on the occasion of Independence Day. Children drew kites in their drawing sheets and coloured them.

GROUP SONG

Scholastic as well as Co-Scholastic activities are equally important for the overall development of the children. Keeping this in view, a Group song activity was held for the students of Classes III to V on 11thAugust 2018. Children sang beautiful songs with great patriotic fervor. The event was enjoyed and appreciated by one and all.

MY PASSPORT TO THE WORLD

Students of Class Prep participated in an interesting activity – ‘My Passport to the World’ held on 11th August 2018. Children came dressed as natives of different countries and spoke a few lines about that country. The aim of the activity was to make the students know about of the cultures and dresses of different countries around the globe.

FANCY DRESS COMPETITION

On the occasion of Independence Day, a Fancy Dress Competition was held for the students of Class I on 11th August 2018 based  on the theme ‘National Heroes’. Children came dressed as famous personalities and spoke a few lines about them.

HINDI RHYME COMPETITION

A Hindi Rhyme Competition was held for the students of Class I on 23 July 2018 based on the theme ‘Rainy Season’. The competition observed 100% participation of the students.

LEARNING ANIMAL SOUND AND ACTION

Students of Class Nursery participated in an interesting activity on 20 July 2018 in which they used Dance as a medium to learn about the sounds and action of different animals. This fun filled activity proved a great source of learning for the children.

MASK MAKING ACTIVITY

Class Nursery and Prep students participated in a Mask Making Activity on 11th July 2o18. Children prepared paper masks depicting their favourite cartoon character and animals. The fun filled activity was thoroughly enjoyed by all students.

COLOURING COMPETITION

Students of Class Nursery participated in a Colouring Competition held on 7th July 2018 based on the theme ‘Rainy Season’. Children participated in the competition with great enthusiasm. The activity aimed at developing their motor skills and hand eye movement.

Investiture Ceremony

Investiture Ceremony for the Junior School was held in the month of July. Different positions including House Captains, House Vice-Captain, Prefects, Student Volunteer etc. were bestowed upon the qualified candidates. The newly appointed members of the Student Council  took an oath to carry out their responsibility with full dedication.

GERMINATION ACTIVITY

He who plants a tree, plants hope.

 In order to sensitize our students about the need to grow plants, a germination activity was held in the school for the students of Class I in the month of July 2018. Students visited the school lawns and learnt about germination from the gardener.

RHYME RECITATION

Come rain and it’s the time to celebrate the pleasant weather with a number of activities. Class I students participated in an English Rhyme Competition held in July 2018. Children brought different props with them and recited beautiful poems based on theme ‘Rain’. The activity helped the students in improving their confidence and recitation skills.

YOGA SESSION

Yoga has acclaimed world wide recognition due to its healing exercises and aasanas. Students of Class II were taught different Yoga postures by their sports teacher. The activity aimed at motivating the students to include Yoga in their daily routine in order to stay fit and healthy.

I CARE FOR MOTHER EARTH

Students of Class Prep participated in a Fancy Dress activity held on the occasion of Earth Day. Children came dressed as different stakeholders of nature like animals, trees, insects etc. and spoke a few lines about the need to protect our nature and wildlife.

EXPERIMENTS ON AIR AND WATER

“We keep moving forward, opening new doors and doing new things, because we are curious and curiosity keeps leading us down the new paths.” – Walt Disney

Students of Class Prep initiated their experience with science by doing small experiments in their class on 30th April 2018. The teachers explained the concepts of ‘Air occupies space’ and ‘Water is a universal solvent’ through simple experiments. It was amazing to see the tiny tots participating in the activity with great curiosity and enthusiasm.

INCREDIBLE INDIA

Our country is known for its varied cultural diversity. Students of Class II displayed the same by participating in an activity – ‘Incredible India’. Children came dressed as natives of different states and spoke a few lines about that state. The competition proved to be a great learning experience for the students.

PAPER ROLL UP CRAFT

A Paper Roll Up Craft Activity was held for the students of Class IV, in which students used innovative ideas to create different decorative and useful items like Pen Stand, Photo Frame, Hand Puppets etc.

CRAFT WORK USING STRAW

Students of Class IV displayed their creativity by using straw to make different decorative and useful items. Pen Stands, small boxes, hangings are just to name a few.

JOIN THE BEADS

Students of Class III actively participated in a ‘Join the beads’ activity in which they created beautiful bracelets using threads and beads.

MATHS DICE ACTIVITY

Students of Class II participated in a Dice Activity as a part of their Maths learning. They used dice to learn the concept of Addition and Subtraction in an easy and effective way.

 

NAMING WORDS

Student of Class I learnt the concept of Naming Words through an interesting activity. Children pasted the pictures of people, places and objects on a chart paper and identified the type of Noun.

 

BEST OUT OF WASTE

Best out of waste is an activity that gives an array of ideas to choose from. Students of Class II used old Compact Disks to turn them into beautiful wall hangings, decorative fish and many other decorative items.

 

Group Song Competiton

Students of Class v had a gala time participating in a  group song based on the theme ‘Patriotism’. Students carrying national flags and singing patriotic song created a vibrant atmosphere.

SCIENCE EXHIBITION

The annual Science Exhibition was held in the school premises on 10 Feb 2018 with a view to encourage and inculcate scientific temper amongst the students. The event witnessed young enthusiastic participation from classes I to V. The exhibition was organized in different categories- Going back to village, Scientists in the Kitchen, Illusion, Science and Technology, Magic With Science, Astronomy, Hydrodynamics, Aerodynamics were to name a few. It was amazing to see the budding talent presenting their models with great confidence. Eminent persons from different fields were invited as Judges for the exhibition. The exhibition came to an end with award distribution to the winners.

SHOW AND TELL

A ‘Show and Tell’ activity was organized for the students of class I on 15th January 2018 based on the theme ‘Seasons’. Students brought different theme related props with them and spoke a few lines or rhymes based on them. The activity aimed at inculcating good communication skills in the students and also to remove their stage fear.

BOOKMARK MAKING

As a part of Art and Craft Club Activity, students of Class II learnt to make bookmarks using vegetable imprints. Children participated in the activity with great enthusiasm to create beautiful bookmarks.

RHYME RECITATION COMPETITION

Rhymes prove stepping stones for young children to learn English. A Rhyme Recitation Competition was organized for the students of class III on 18 December 2017 in the school premises. The participants recited beautiful rhymes based on different topics.

PLANTATION DRIVE

Students of Primary block participated in a plantation drive in the school on the occasion of Earth Day. Children planted saplings in small pots and took pledge to take care of them. The aim of the activity was to spread awareness towards the need to have a greener earth.

FOLK DANCE COMPETITION

Folk Dances in India depict the diverse culture and traditions being followed in different parts of the country. A Folk Dance competition was organized for the students of Class II on 30 November 2017. Children dressed in traditional attires swayed to the beats of folk music and enthralled the audience with their energetic performances.

CARD MAKING ON THE OCCASION OF EARTH DAY

We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.

The modern lifestyle and indiscriminate use of resources has pushed our mother earth to a threatening state. Little children of class I tried to convey this message through a Card Making Activity held on April 22, 2017. They also wrote thought provoking slogans to generate awareness about the need to protect mother earth.

GRANNY’S RECIPE

Students of Class V participated in an interesting Inter Class Activity – ‘Granny’s Recipe’. Students learnt different traditional recipes from their grannies and presented them beautifully on chart sheets. They even pasted their photographs with their grandmothers to show their gratitude towards them for their immense love and blessings.

ENGLISH ACTIVITY

Students of Class II participated in an English Activity – Learning Nouns. Students identified different naming words as Proper nouns or common nouns and prepared beautiful collage.

EVS ACTIVITY

As a part of EVS activities, student of class I and II visited the science lab and learnt about simple science concepts through science models.

PREPARING ECO-MATS

Students of Class III participated in an interesting activity ‘Preparing Ecomats’. Children learnt to prepare table mats using old newspaper. The aim of the activity was to promote the concept of three R’s i.e Reduce, Reuse and Recycle among the children.

CARD MAKING ACTIVITY

Students of Pre-Primary block expressed their gratitude towards their mothers for their unconditional love and care by making beautiful Mother’s Day Cards for them.

RHYME RECITATION COMPETITION

Students of Class I and II had a gala time participating in a Rhyme Recitation Competition based on the theme ‘Save Nature, Save Mother Earth’. Students carrying posters and  reciting poems created a vibrant atmosphere and generated awareness towards the need to save the planet.

RIBBON DECORATION ACTIVITY

A Ribbon Decoration activity was held for the students of Class II on 29th July 2017, in which students decorated the ribbons using small mirrors, decorative threads, shells etc. to prepare beautiful bandanwars and wall hangings. This Art and Craft activity aimed at developing artistic skills among the students.

PAINT MY DREAM WORLD

Students of Pre-primary  wing participated in a coloring activity ‘Paint My Dream World’ held on 22nd July 2017. Students filled the colours using brush, thumb impression and hand impressions in a pre-drawn picture.

IGLOO MODEL

Students of Class V enthusiastically participated in an EVS activity held on 15th July 2017, in which they prepared models of Igloo. The activity was followed by a class talk based on ‘Types of houses in  various parts of the world’.

TEARING AND PASTING ACTIVITY

Students of Class I and II participated in a Tearing and Pasting activity held on 8th July 2017 based on the theme – Monsoon.

MASTERCHEF ACTIVITY

The most awaited activity of the year, ‘Little Masterchef’ was held in the month of May 2017 for the students of Class III to V. It was amazing to see the little hands working so perfectly with innovative dishes and their beautiful presentation. The activity came to an end with the sharing of food by the children with their classmates. It was heart touching to see the children packing food in their tiffin boxes to be carried back home for their parents.

BEST OUT OF WASTE

Students of Class III displayed their creativity by participating in the ‘Best out of waste’ activity. It was amazing to see the children creating useful and decorative items using different waste materials like newspaper, old straw, used cups and glasses, mirrors etc.

CREATIVE IDEAS WITH OLD CDs

Following the concept of three R’s- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, students of the primary wing  applied different creative ideas to remodel old CDs as useful items like Tea Coaster,  Wind Chimes, Wall Hangings etc.

MATHS ACTIVITY

Students of Class I participated in Maths activity – Skip Counting. The aim of the activity was to make the students revise the concepts of skip counting in a fun way.

MONSOON CELEBRATION

Students of Class I participated in a Rhyme Competition based on the theme –‘Rain’. Students used different props like umbrellas, raincoats etc. to recite beautiful poems depicting the soothing and blissful effect of rain on earth and its natives. The competition was followed by presenting a Rain Dance by a group of students. The event was enjoyed by one and all.

SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAAN

A cleanliness activity with the name ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ was celebrated in the school on 29th July 2017 for the students of class III to V. Students brought dusters with them and cleaned their classrooms and their desks. The aim of the activity was to inculcate the habit of cleanliness among the children.

KITE MAKING ACTIVITY

Come rain and our lives get bustled with a string of festivals. Festival of Teej, signifying the importance of rain in the life of a farmer, was celebrated by the students of Class II on   22nd July 2017. As the festival is also associated with Kite flying, students prepared beautiful kites using paper and colours.

RHYME RECITATION

A Rhyme Recitation activity was held for the students of pre-primary wing on _______ based on the theme – Nature. The students came dressed as different objects and spoke beautiful poems related to the theme. It was amazing to watch the tiny tots presenting themselves confidently on the stage.

HOLIDAY HOMEWORK DISPLAY

The school put up a small exhibition of the different projects and craft works done by the students of Class I to  V during their summer holidays. Parents visited the school to view the exhibits and appreciated the efforts put by the students. The aim of the activity was to showcase the innovative and creative work of the students to motivate them.
