CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM BY CBSE

The school hosted a one day Capacity Building Workshop on Value Education organized by Central Board of School Education in the school premises on Saturday 28th June 2018. Twenty five teachers from different schools participated in the workshop and learnt innovative ways to inculcate values in the students.

WORKSHOP ON TIME MANAGEMENT

Your future is created by what you do today.

It is utmost important for a student to learn the know-how of time management so that he/she use time effectively for academic and physical growth. She explained the students the right way to frame a timetable for themselves. She also stressed upon the need to implement the timetable in their day-to-day life.

WORKSHOP ON GOOD TOUCH BAD TOUCH

In the wake of the present conditions in society, it has become all the more imperative to educate our young children about the threats of sexual abuse. Keeping the same in mind, the school counselor conducted a series of workshops in the month of July on the topic ‘Good Touch Bad Touch’ in all the sections of Classes Nursery to V.

SESSION ON ‘ACCEPTING CHANGE’

Students of Class IX and X were given sessions on the topic ‘Accepting change’ by the school counselor on 28th Feb 2018. The counselor explained the students that change being an inevitable part of everyone’s life, should be accepted in a graceful manner. She encouraged the children to develop strong social and emotional skills so that they can cope up with small changes in their student life like change of section or change of a teacher. She also conducted few individual sessions with the students to discuss their problems generally related to adolescence.


CONDUCT OF COMMON REVISION ASSIGNMENT

With a view to have a common assessment of learning, gap analysis and remediation, the CRA (Common Revision Assignment) Evaluation was carried out in the school in association with DPS Society in the month of February 2018. The CRA aimed at assessment of learning of basic concepts in identified subjects, on completion of seven years of primary learning and three years of learning at upper primary level, by conducting common tests in three subjects viz. English, Hindi and Mathematics.

SESSION ON DEALING WITH EXAM STRESS

The school counselor Ms. Manisha Jethwani conducted special sessions for the students of Class X and XII on the topic ‘Dealing with Exam Stress’. She gave the students tips to cope with the examination stress for the coming Board exams. She guided them about the effective ways to make revision schedule so as to cover different subjects in a short span of time. She also stressed upon the need to do light exercise and meditation as relaxing tools during the preparatory days.

WORKSHOP ON IMPORTANCE OF HEALTHY FOOD

Eating behavior evolves during the earlier years of life. In order to help the children develop healthy food habits, a workshop on ‘Healthy Food vs Junk Food’ was held in the school by the School Nutritionist. She explained the harmful effects of junk food through an interesting puppet show that was enjoyed thoroughly by the children. Parents were also apprised of the Importance of Healthy food through the School App.

WORKSHOP ON ‘IMPORTANCE OF FRUITS’

The school Nutritionist took a session for the students of primary wing on the topic – ‘Importance of Fruits’. In an interactive session, she explained the composition of different fast food items and their harmful effect on our health. She stressed upon the need of including fresh fruits and vegetables in our daily food in order to stay healthy.

WORKSHOP ON PROJECT WORK IN ECONOMICS

Ms Neelima Arora of Commerce Department attened a workshop on 22 July 2017  at Sadhu Vaswani Girls International School, New Delhi . The topic of the workshop was – ‘Project Work in Economics and Microeconomics’.
